I was at Moxie's today and finally found RC in a glass bottle. I'm a big fan of RC and it's taken me years to find a place that carried it in glass bottles, so this was pretty exciting. So exciting, that I thought I'd share it with the world and create this web log of sodas I find. If anyone has some good suggestions for sodas to try and where to get them, I'd like to know.
Now, a little about RC. Royal Crown is the cola of choice at McMenamins restaurants here in the Northwest, which is probably my favorite thing about the chain. It's a great cola. Back in the day they used to print cans with baseball players' pictures on them and they were collectible. I don't have any of those, though. The guy at Moxie's said it was hard to get these bottles and they had to be trucked up from Texas. Texas!
Have you had Inca Cola? Peru's beverage of choice?
ReplyDeleteIf not, please do...and then blog about it!
Its yellow and tastes like lollipops. What more could you want in a soda?
ben you might want to mention that the bottle, when full, has a satisfying heft. also, it can be placed in the crook of the arm.
ReplyDeletei luv yur blog though!!!1!! :)

he boyfriend recently brought home a few flavors of Nesbitts. they were all pretty gross, especially the "new grape" flavor. I really like mexican coke but not as much as this super spicy clear ginger-ale that i had at a restaurant here. the 5 spot, i can't remember the soda company but i'll let you know when i do. You and Mia should come to Seattle and we can go on a soda tasting tour!
ReplyDeleteNathaniel, I did have a can of Inca Cola once. I haven't ever seen it in bottles, but would be pretty excited to find one. I will probably feature it one of these days. Right now I've got around a hundred bottles saved up that I hope to get around to writing about.
ReplyDeleteSerafina, Nesbitt's new grape is good. Probably the best grape soda around. When I was little, grape soda was my favorite, but now it always gives me a headache. The Nesbitt's bottle is really pretty, especially with the yellow label against the purple soda. Reed's is the only strong ginger ale I've had and it's great. I'd love to learn about some more.
